Overview

Rich, bright and sophisticated, the Caboche Plus wall light is a mosaic of refractions coming together to create the body and light effect of the light. When it is turned on, the light diffuses from inside the spheres like lots of bright crystals, lighting the surrounding environment with reflected and diffused light. The lamp features a blown glass internal diffuser and an external diffuser consisting of a crown of polycarbonate arches secured to a metal mount and PMMA spheres. ETL certified. Manufactured by Foscarini.

Foscarini

Foscarini was founded in 1981 on the Italian island of Murano near Venice. Given its location, its early production pieces were logically focused primarily on blown glass. By the late 1980s, Carlo Urbinati and Alessandro Vecchiat (both had previously worked as designers for Foscarini) took over management of the company and expanded its mission to include research and experimentation in a range of materials other than glass – molded polyethelyene, aluminum, polycarbonate, even Kevlar thread and silicon-coated metal. This commitment to innovation through materials has led to successful collaborations with a number of renowned architects and designers over the past few decades including Ferruccio Laviani, Tom Dixon, Aldo Cibic, Piero Lissoni, Marc Sadler, James Irvine, Karim Rashid, Patricia Urquiola, Luca Nichetto, and Valerio Bottin. Foscarini has received numerous, prestigious awards and many of its designs are now in the permanent collections of several museums around the world.

Patricia Urquiola

Patricia Urquiola (born 1961 in Oveido, Spain) studied architecture at the Madrid Polytechnic as well as Milan Polytechnic where she graduated in 1989. She was Achille Castiglioni's assistant at the Milan Polytechnic from 1990 to 1992. From 1990 to 1996 she was in the Product Development Office for De Padova where she collaborated with Vico Magistretti. In 1996, she joined Studio Lissoni and Associates. In 2001 she opened her own studio for design, installations, and architecture. Throughout the ensuing decades of the 21st century, Urquiola has truly become a creative tour de force in all aspects of design! She has been the recipient of numerous design awards and her work is included in the permanent collections of numerous museums worldwide. She has collaborated with a number of manufacturers on product design including Agape, Axor, B&B Italia, Boffi, Cappellini, Cassina, De Padova, Foscarini, GAN, Glas Italia, Kartell, Kettal, Kvadrat, Lasvit, Moroso, Olivari, Paola Lenti, Riva 1920, Steelcase, Studio TK, and Viccarbe.
