Born from a collaboration with Swarovski, Austria’s leading producer of cut crystal, Edra developed an extraordinary collection dedicated to those who appreciate luxury underscored by a profound sensuality. The first piece, Flap Diamond, was produced in 2001 and features a seating surface with 750,000 Swarovski crystals. In 2005, Tatlin Diamond was introduced with the "sparkling light" aesthetic associated with Swarovski crystals. Tatlin is an extraordinarily sculptural sofa – its form is based upon Vladimir Tatlin’s Constructivist tower that was designed in 1919/20 for the Third International in Moscow. While never built, Tatlin’s proposed 400 meter height would have been taller than the Eiffel Tower and the equivalent of a 100-story building. Akin to a “seating totem,” Tatlin is suited for both living rooms and public spaces, easily providing seating for 8-10 people. Manufactured by Edra.
