Mario Cananzi (born 1958 in Rimini, Italy) studied at Florence University and graduated with a degree in architecture in 1985 subsequently obtained his master's degree in industrial design from the Domus Academy in Milan.  He has collaborated with several manufacturers including Disform, Edra, Morphos, Oliko, Punt Mobles, Sawaya & Moroni, and Vittorio Bonacina.  Roberto Semprini (born 1959 in Rimini, Italy) also studied architecture in Florence.  After moving from Florence to Milan, he started working as a freelance journalist for several design magazines like Modo and Vouge Italia.  He has collaborated with several manufacturers including Alivar, Contempo, Dilmos, Edra, Fiam, Guzzini, Moroso, and Pedrali.  In 1989, Cananzi and Semprini created the sculptural Tatlin sofa for Edra.
