Carlo Colombo
Carlo Colombo (born 1967 in Carimate, Italy) graduated in 1993 with a degree in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic.  Colombo's first pieces were designed for Cappellini - the Archimede bed and Zigo Zago carpet.  From the early 1990s forward, Colombo has the recipient of numerous design awards and he has created hundreds of projects in collaboration with several leading manufacturers including Antonio Lupi, Arflex, Artemide, BYografia, Cappellini, DePadova, Emmemobili, EMU, F.lli Guzzini, Flou, Flexform, Franke, Fusital, Giorgetti, iGuzzini, IOC, Paola Lenti, Moroso, Nube, Oluce, Penta, Poliform, Poltrona Frau, Riva 1920, Rugiano, Sabattini, Serralunga, Tecno, Teuco, Varenna, Zanotta.  Throughout these collaborations, Colombo's designs are underscored by the designer's masterful manipulation of luxe materials - wood, leather, hide, metal, glass, stone, fabric.  The often unexpected juxtapositions of these various materials infuse his resulting forms with a range of engaging, sophisticated aesthetics.
