Jozeph Forakis
Jozeph Forakis (born 1962 in New York City) earned a master's at the Domus Academy in Milan. He has created a number of iconic product designs over the course of his career, including the Havana lamp which helped to mark Foscarini as a prominent manufacturer of modern lighting. The piece was added to the design collection of New York's Museum of Modern Art in 1998. His namesake studio, Jozeph Forakis ... Design, has collaborated with many well-known brands across a variety of industries, including Fujitsu, Epson, Kikkerland, LG Electronics, Magis, Normann Copenhagen, Samsung, Swarovski, Tecno, and Yamaha Motors. Jozeph Forakis served as the European Design Director for Motorola from 1999 to 2002, during which he led the design team of the V.70 mobile phone. His work is displayed in numerous prestigious institutions around the world including Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art and New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
