Davide Groppi & Enzo Calabrese
Davide Groppi (born 1963 in Piacenza, Italy) grew up designing and constructing mechanical inventions with his father. According to the designer, “My father taught me not only how to put things together and create from spare parts, but also how to appreciate beauty and construct things solidly. Together, we built a pinball machine, a telegraph and … a lamp.” He began formerly working in mechanical design in 1985 before he started selling lamps of his own design in 1988. Groppi became well-known for his lighting work, which conveys emotion, weightlessness, and simplicity. He has collaborated with a number of prominent brands including 967 Design, Boffi, Christofle, De Padova, Harry Thaler, Omar Carraglia, Paola Lenti, and Sara Frattini. Davide Groppi's work has earned a number of honors over the years, including the Edida Award (2011), Design Plus Award (2014) and the ADI Compasso d'Oro Mention of Honour (2016).

Enzo Calabrese (born 1961 in Brindisi, Italy) is an architect and designer with an office in Pescara where he both lives and works.  He has a Ph.D. and does both research and teaches in the department of Architectural Composition within the Faculty of Architecture of Pescara.
