Manufactured by: Zanotta
Designed from 1969 through 1972, by Florence-based Superstudio, Quaderna is a family of unique and timeless rectilineaer and square furniture shapes - coffee and dining tables, consoles, cabinets, sideboards, desks - covered with a proprietary graph-like white laminate called Misura that is characterized by its strict volumes. Its application to various furniture forms creates a fabulously repetitive "artificial landscape" that is downright mesmerizing in any interior that these pieces are placed. This innovative use of laminate to create forms would pave the way for the Memphis design movement of the early 1980s. Examples of Quaderna are included in the permanent collections of museums worldwide including Museum of Modern Art, New York; Triennale Museo, Milan; Israel Museum, Jerusalem; Kunstgewerbemuseum, Berlin; Kunstmuseum, Dusseldorf; Museum fur Angewandte Kunst, Cologne; Musee National d'Art Moderne, Paris; and the Denver Art Museum. Noted here is the Quaderna 710 low table. Manufactured by Zanotta.
