In the late Seventies Zanotta undertakes a new trend of research aimed at identifying and recovering from the past objects of anonymous origin, “already seen”, but to be revisited and represented in a contemporary key. So, in 1978 Zanotta asked Marco Zanuso to redesign a “familiar” outdoor folding chair. Zanuso introduced some improvements to enhance the chair’s functional characteristics and the seat comfort. Regarding the latter Zanuso proposed a highly refined solution by covering the strips, originally made of metal, with a noble and precious material such as cowhide. Manufactured by Zanotta.
