Tembea is part of Walter K.'s extraordinary range of rugs that have been developed in collaboration with fabric designer Helmut Scheufele and are inspired by the landscapes and colors of Africa. The collection draws its strength from the creativity of the continent which materializes into these timeless, woven works of art of naturalness and elegance. Scheufele started this process by painting abstract pictures of shared impressions of Africa that were finally translated into carpet designs where patterns intensified, yarns were selected, and colors developed. Noted here is the Tembea rug that is composed of wool, silk, and nettle - the combination of these fibers result is a wonderful shimmer and a soft-to-the-touch feel. All Walter K. rugs are available in custom widths and lengths; even round and custom shapes are also possible. Manufactured by Walter K.
