Overview

The Mamy Blue bed is designed by Roberto Lazzeroni, who reconciles its large forms with a soft and rounded design. The structure of the headboard is in solid beech and poplar with a birch core and moulded polyurethane foam down the sides. The bedframe has a distinctive structure: the longitudinal supports are in pine slats and MDF, while the footboard is in multiply poplar. The feet are in wenge-stained ash. The rear of the headboard and the outside edge of the bedframe are upholstered in Cuoio Saddle Extra leather and the front of the headboard and the top of the bedframe are in Pelle Frau leather. The combination of these two materials is enhanced by beautiful topstitching in contrasting thread. Price includes bedstead base insert. Mattress is available for an additional charge. Roberto Lazzeroni

Roberto Lazzeroni (born 1950 in Pisa, Italy) received his professional training in art and architecture in Florence. In the early 1980s he started to be interested in industrial and interior design, a specialization which he defines as fundamental for the following approach to the world of product design. Lazzeroni has created designs for several manufacturers including Antoniopuli, Baxter, Busnelli, Ceccotti, Flexform, Giorgetti, Lema, Poltrona Frau, and Zanotta. He has been the recipient of numerous design awards including Tecniques Discretes (Paris, 1991), Conran Foundation Museum, (London, 1992), Elegant Techniques, (Chicago, 1992), La Fabbrica Estetica, (Paris, 1993), Dall'Albergo alla Nave, (Genoa, 1993), and Costruire il mobile, (Milan 1999).
