Overview

Shang is an indoor rug produced by hand with a round wool cord in solid or mélange colors. The rug is entirely shaped by hand and then machine sewn with a highly resistant thread matching the color of the cord. The Shang natural rug is available in three versions. The first one features multiple round decorated modules sewn together to create alternate geometric sequences. The second rug consists of one round decorated module. The third version consists of one pentagonal shaped decorated module. Due to the materials and the production technique, Paola Lenti advises against the use of the Shang rug in high traffic areas. Paola Lenti (born 1958 in Alessandria, Italy) graduated from Milan's Polytecnico. In the early 1980s, she started working as an image coordinator and graphic designer for several events and fashion companies. In 1994, she founded her namesake design manufacturing company located in Italy's Meda furniture district just outside of Milan. Her company has become synonymous with textile innovation and its applications for home furnishings - known for its ongoing dedication to both research and experimentation.
