Designed for Memphis' inaugural collection in 1981, the Oceanic table lamp features a fabulous juxtaposition of rectilinear pink base and rectilinear yellow head (the respository for the bulb) interspersed with three canted black and white striped columns. The result is a cross between a profoundly zoomorphic "creature" that is seemingly moving and the canted smoke stacks of an early 20th century ocean liner - Oceanic becomes a striking focal point on any surface that it is placed. Oceanic is included in the permanent collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum, London. Manufactured by Memphis Milano.
