Designed by: Ettore Sottsass
Manufactured by: Memphis Milano
Like Sottsass' iconic Carlton bookcase/room divider, the designer's Casablanca storage cabinet is also from Memphis' inaugural collection presented in September 1981 at Arc'74 Gallery in Milan. : Casablanca is also underscored by Sottsass' exploration of the form covered in laminate - with Carlton, mostly solid color laminates; with Casablanca, mostly patterned laminates. Casblanca is a striking, totemic form that functions as both sculpture and concealed storage within any interior that it is placed. Casablanca is included in the permanent collections of the Brooklyn Museum, New York; the Newfields Collection, Indianapolis; the Triennale Museum, Milan; and the Victoria & Albert Museum, London. Manufactured by Memphis Milano.
