Designed by: Michele De Lucchi
Manufactured by: Memphis Milano
Like Ettore Sottsass' iconic Carlton and Casablanca designs, Michele de Lucchi's Burgundy dining table is a fabulous example of how Memphis uses patterned laminates to create compelling aesthetics. Burgundy was introduced in 1985 and was out-of-production for many years having been reintroduced by Memphis in the 2020s. The thick surface features a schematic black and gray organic "cowhide" pattern as the surface with a perimeter in a mesmerizing graphic, geometric black and white pattern. The table top is "cradled" by tubular steel presented both vertically and horizontally in De Lucchi's signature saturated light blue. This small dining table would do double-duty as a striking desk or work surface. Manufactured by Memphis Milano.
