Manufactured by: Ingo Maurer
Designed by Frans van Nieuwenborg and Martijn Wegman, the Delight lamp (as its name suggests) will absolutely delight! This fabulously conceptual design is yet another Ingo Maurer icon. Delight is a simple piece… it features a special heat-resistant white fiberglass square cIoth with an integrated bulb socket in the center around which the cloth can be “draped” in various ways by the user to create an “illuminated object” that functions as a table lamp. With its integrated loop tab on one side, Delight can also be hung on a wall functioning like a sconce – gravity will also assist with the way in which the cloth drapes. For many years, the manufacturer recommended a frosted incandescent 40 watt E27 base bulb for use with the lamp. With the advent of LED technology, clearly other bulb options (and associated resulting aesthetics) are now available. Delight is included in the permanent collections of several museums worldwide including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Philadelphia Museum of Art; and the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam. Manufactured by Ingo Maurer.

Ingo Maurer started to design exceptional lamps, lighting systems, and objects beginning in the mid 1960s, which his eponymous company both produces and distributes worldwide. For over 50 years, Ingo Maurer GMBH (originally known as Design M) has been challenging preconceived notions of how a lamp can look and how lighting can function – always availing itself of new illumination technologies and incorporating these into thought-provoking and cutting-edge designs. Ingo Maurer has produced lighting designs that have won countless prestigious awards and are included in the permanent collections of museums around the world.
