Sassi, meaning "stones" or "rocks" in Italian, is a group of three realistic looking "seats" from Gufram. Designed in 1968 by Piero Gilardi, these pieces bring elements of the great outdoors into your living space, offering a whimsical seating solution or a captivating decor element. First showcased at the 1968 Milan Triennale stairs, Sassi are made from lightweight polyurethane foam and, using the manufacturer's proprietary Guflac finishing embody Gufram's visually-compelling "true-fake" concept. Sassi are included in the permanent collections of several museums including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Design Museum, Brussels; and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
