Conceived in 1971 by Giorgio Ceretti, Pietro Derossi, and Riccardo Rosso, the Pratone lounge chair ("pratone" means "meadow" in Italian) has remained an iconic marvel in the world of Italian Radical Design for over half a century. With its towering "blades of grass" handcrafted from soft polyurethane, the seat invites you to sink into its verdant cradle, embodying a surreal blend of natural and artificial elements. The original Pratone design from the 1970s has long been sold out. Given its timeless appeal, Gufram introduced its Infinito edition of the design in 2021. Pratone is included in the permanent collections of the Vitra Design Museum, Germany, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Manufactured by Gufram.
