The Bloom collection arises as a tribute to botanical diversity, in which each design seeks to capture the unique essence of a specific floral species. In the case of the Light Grey model, it is the Habenaria Armatissima orchid. Its designer, Hilla Havkin, has created a synthetic graphic translation yet with unique details, which is executed with great skill by the embroiderers of the GAN Women Unit on a wool base made on hand-operated looms. The Bloom collection is a personal interpretation of the botanical universe that Hilla Havkin knows so well, as she graduated in Biology before training as an architect. This is, therefore, a field that plays a central role in her way of approaching design, feeling deeply linked to the spirit of the Arts and Crafts movement, not only at an aesthetic level but also for its defense of artisanal manufacturing. In this sense, the Bloom collection is a brilliant contemporary reinterpretation of her greatest influence. The design of the rugs in the Bloom collection is composed of a succession of horizontal and vertical lines in which the different floral species are intertwined, each with its own nuances and colors, embroidered with great delicacy. The idea was to represent them from a zenithal perspective and a certain flattened appearance on a neutral surface, alluding to the hobby in the designer's memory, who as a child used to collect flowers and dry them between the pages of a book. Manufactured by GAN Gandia Blasco.
