The Tuareg floor lamp is a three-dimensional composition that recalls the assembly of branches and rods – like a work of land art – with adjustable light sources. The lamp consists of simple and essential tubular elements, made of varnished aluminum and polycarbonate, which are directed differently to create a structure with a personality resembling that of an artistic installation. The deeply industrial soul of the lamp is brought out in orange, white and black chrome finishes. Touch dimmer included. Manufactured by Foscarini.

Foscarini was founded in 1981 on the Italian island of Murano near Venice. Given its location, its early production pieces were logically focused primarily on blown glass. By the late 1980s, Carlo Urbinati and Alessandro Vecchiat (both had previously worked as designers for Foscarini) took over management of the company and expanded its mission to include research and experimentation in a range of materials other than glass – molded polyethelyene, aluminum, polycarbonate, even Kevlar thread and silicon-coated metal. This commitment to innovation through materials has led to successful collaborations with a number of renowned architects and designers over the past few decades including Ferruccio Laviani, Tom Dixon, Aldo Cibic, Piero Lissoni, Marc Sadler, James Irvine, Karim Rashid, Patricia Urquiola, Luca Nichetto, and Valerio Bottin. Foscarini has received numerous, prestigious awards and many of its designs are now in the permanent collections of several museums around the world.
Ferruccio Laviani (born 1960 in Italy) graduated from the Istituto Professionale Internazionale per l'Artigianato Liutario e del Legno di Cremona in 1978 and went on to earn a degree from the Faculty of Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano in 1986. He additionally attended the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan from 1982 to 1984. An architect and designer, Laviani first began working for Michele De Lucchi in 1983, later becoming a partner before he opened his own studio in Milan in 1991. He has since worked with a number of well-known brands including De Padova, Emmemobili, Flos, Foscarini, Kartell, Moroso, and Society (Limonta).
