Simbiosi is all about re-thinking the idea of a chandelier. With Simbiosi, Davide Groppi has reduced the various "chandelier" elements into minimalist forms that can be connected in a number of extraordinarily flexible ways to create a wide range of resulting aesthetics. As a whole, the eight diffusers that comprise Simbiosi appear weightless; its linear support wires almost invisible. In marked contrast to these linear forms are the very thin red wires that organically meander to each of the light sources bringing them to life. While the meandering of each red wire is similar to each other, it is ultimately unique - it is the relation of these vertical linear components to their connective amorphic horizontal counterparts that fundamentally underscores the "symbiosis" of this design.
