Triton has finally succeeded in reconciling this supposed contradiction. Thanks to its anatomically formed seat, it is unusually comfortable. Women will especially love this barstool, because designer Clemens Weisshaar has even included a hook under the seat to hang up a handbag. The Triton barstool frame comes in a black or cream powder coated steel, chrome-plated steel or copper-plated steel. The seat shell is available in rigid polyurethane, color varnished in jet black or cream. The seat shell is also available in black, white, dark gray or caramel hard leather. ClassiCon, a clever portmanteau deriving from the words “classic” and “contemporary,” perfectly fuses the range of designs produced by this German manufacturer. Founded in 1990, ClassiCon holds the worldwide license to produce Eileen Gray’s iconic range of designs from the 20th century. Before her death in 1973, Gray collaborated with London’s Aram Designs to issue many of her furnishings as production pieces – lounge chairs, sofas, side tables, dining tables, screens, and rugs. ClassiCon is the only licensed manufacturer of Eileen Gray’s designs. In addition to its meticulous production of her furnishings from the 1920s and 1930s, ClassiCon collaborates with a number of contemporary designers like Konstantin Grcic, Jader Alme ida, Nina Mair, Sauerbruch Hutton, Edward Barber + Jay Osgerby, Neri & Hu, Sebastian Herkner, to create new pieces. All ClassicCon pieces are presented as part of an edition where each example is both stamped and numbered. Clemens Weishaar

Clemens Weisshaar (born 1977 in Munich, Germany) initially trained as a metalworker and then studied product design at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and the London Royal College of Art. He worked as an assistant to Konstantin Grcic for three years and, in 2000, he set up his own design office with Swedish designer Reed Kram in order to create Kram / Weisshaar - an interdisciplinary studio with offices in Munich and Stockholm. In their work, they rethink the design process and combine conventional production methods with the latest technical possibilities. Designs by Kram / Weisshaar are included in several museums including Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich; Centre Pompidou, Paris; and Museum of Modern Art, New York.
