Patrick Jouin (born 1967 in Nantes, France) received his degree in industrial design from ENSCI-les Ateliers.  Patrick Jouin is a designer whose creativity finds an expression in industrial design for the decorative arts.  His career and his design agency were featured in an exhibition at Centre Pompidou in 2009.  :The designer received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro in 2011 for his PastaPot design for Alessi.  : Many of his creations are in the permanent collections of museums worldwide including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and Victoria & Albert Museum, London.  : In fact, both museums own examples of Jouin's seating designs from 2004 and 2006 respectively that were made by 3D printing technology - early instances of furniture that were actually realilzed using this technology.  Jouin has collaborated with several manufacturers including Busnelli, Cassina, Fiam, Kartell, Ligne Roset, Pedrali, Porada, Veronese, and Zanotta.
