Christophe Pillet

Christophe Pillet (born 1959 in Montargis, France) graduated in 1985 from the Academy of Decorative Arts, Nice, France, and then completed a post-graduate course in Milan at the Domus Academy. He subsequently worked in Milan with Martine Bedin before moving to Paris, where he worked with Philippe Starck from 1988 to 1993. Over the course of his career, he has designed for a number of top brands, including Cappellini, Driade, Kartell, L'Oreal, Moroso, Shiseido, and Tacchini. His products range from architecture and interior design to home furnishings designs such as chairs and vases. Christophe Pillet makes a point of not limiting himself to a single style, yet rather experiments with a variety of aesthetics. In an interview with Azure Magazine, he said that “In my opinion, it's not important to have a style; it's more important to do things 'with' style. Being too coherent in your work can get a little dry.”
