Tobia Scarpa
Tobia Scarpa (born 1935 in Venice, Italy) works in the field of architecture, design, and restoration.  Son of much-celebrated architect Carlo Scarpa, Tobia graduated with a degree in architecture from the University of Venice in 1969 and, in that same year, won the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award for his Soriana lounge chair design for Cassina.  He has been the recipient of numerous design awards and accolades; his work is included in the permanent collections of several museums including New York's Museum of Modern Art.  Along with his wife Afra Scarpa (1937 - 2011), he collaborated with several manufacturers including B&B Italia, Cassina, Flos, Knoll, and Tacchini.
