Jaime Hayon
Jaime Hayon (born 1974 in Madrid, Spain) studied industrial design in both Madrid and Paris. In 1997, he joined Fabrica, the Benetton-funded design and communication academy in Italy, where he directed its design department until 2003. Hayon set up his own studio practice 2000 dedicated himself fully to his personal projects. In two decades, he's become one of the world's most celebrated designers. Hayon has created several furniture designs for &Tradition, BD Barcelona, Bernhardt Design, Bisazza, Cassina, Ceccotti, Established and Sons, Fritz Hansen, Magis, Moooi, Se London, and Wittmann. The designer's collections and pieces for these manufacturers continue to both push and define the intersection of fine art and design within a contemporary context. Switch Modern shows a number of Hayon's furniture designs - credenzas, sofas, tables, lounge chairs, accessories - along with curating an exhibition of the designer's work for several manufacturers at its Atlanta showroom in 2017; the designer was present for the opening reception.
