Maarten Baas

Maarten Baas (born 1978 in Arnsberg, Germany) is a Dutch designer that grew up in the southwest and central region of the Netherlands.  In 1996, he began his studies Design Academy Eindhoven.  Baas is known for his work – playful, rebellious, intellectual, conceptual, theatrical – that blurs the boundaries between fine art and design.  His work is part of the permanent collections of museums worldwide including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Victoria & Albert Museum, London; Musée des Arts Decoratifs, Paris; Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco; Die Neue Sammlung, Munich; and the Stedelijk Museum and Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
