With their Plant Chandelier, the design duo of Kranen/Gille drew inspiration from the photographs of Karl Blossfeldt - a photographer, teacher, and artist who worked in Berlin, Germany. Blossfeldt is best known for his close-up photographs of plants and living things - inspired by nature and the ways in which plants grow. He believed that "the plant must be valued as a totally artistic and architectural structure." With their suspension light and its structure akin to "branches," Kranen/Gille have created a remarkable visual metaphor for growth underscored by an industrial aesthetic. A longer length cable is available for an upcharge. UL listed. Manufactured by Moooi.
