"Why don't we love our sofas like our handbags? Why is it so difficult to buy one? And why do we buy one sofa to last the best part of a lifetime?" It was pondering these questions that gave designer Marcel Wanders a novel idea. As a result Moooi Boutiques have opened their doors all over the world and are presenting a revolutionary concept which makes buying a sofa not only easier, but much more fun. Conceived, developed and designed by Wanders himself, this concept consists of a set of "naked" seating units ready for dressing in a whole range of unique fashionable covers. Fabrics may be combined and pillows maybe added for an additional charge. Four different options are available for feet. The Boutique series is a part of the Moooi Seaters Collection, consisting of an armchair, double, or triple seater sofa, as well as a footstool. Each piece has a steel base construction and is CMHR foam upholstered and covered with a Teflon treated fabric and a fire retardant coating. All Boutique covers are tailored to fit and easily attach to the sofa with Hook and Loop (velcro) fastenings. Manufactured by Moooi.
