Lumiere Table Lamp

Designed by:  Rodolfo Dordoni
Manufactured by:  Foscarini

Inspired by the classic table lamp with lampshade, Lumiere was designed in 1990 by Rodolfo Dordoni and immediately became one of the best sellers in the Foscarini collection, characterised by the original and harmonious combination of the essential form of the diffuser in mouth-blown glass and the slim support of the characteristic tripod in aluminium alloy. In 2015 the lamp is modernised with the introduction of new color shades for the diffuser – keeping the white internal layer to help reflect the light – and a new finish for the tripod, demonstrating the surprising modernity of one the cult pieces of the collection. The refined elegance of Lumiere, the availability of two different sizes and four different colors, together with its warm, intense, diffused light, make it the perfect lamp for various environments, different in both style and taste.  Tripod base is available in black chrome, polished aluminum or champagne.  Manufactured by Foscarini.

Small lamp requires one halogen 40W G9 Type T4 Bi-Pin bulb.  Large lamp requires two halogen 40W G9 Type T4 Bi-Pin bulbs.  Light bulb is not included.

Foscarini

Foscarini was founded in 1981 on the Italian island of Murano near Venice. Given its location, its early production pieces were logically focused primarily on blown glass. By the late 1980s, Carlo Urbinati and Alessandro Vecchiat (both had previously worked as designers for Foscarini) took over management of the company and expanded its mission to include research and experimentation in a range of materials other than glass – molded polyethelyene, aluminum, polycarbonate, even Kevlar thread and silicon-coated metal. This commitment to innovation through materials has led to successful collaborations with a number of renowned architects and designers over the past few decades including Ferruccio Laviani, Tom Dixon, Aldo Cibic, Piero Lissoni, Marc Sadler, James Irvine, Karim Rashid, Patricia Urquiola, Luca Nichetto, and Valerio Bottin. Foscarini has received numerous, prestigious awards and many of its designs are now in the permanent collections of several museums around the world.
