Arumi Suspension Light

$559.00
Designed by:  Lucidi & Pevere
Manufactured by:  Foscarini

Arumi reflects Foscarini’s ability to transform an industrial object made in die-cast aluminum alloy, into a finely crafted artefact, thanks to careful manual polishing of the inner surface and the outer border, joined by the handcrafted irregular finish of all the outer surfaces and the three reliefs that bring rhythm to the piece. Arumi embodies elegant, precious contrasts, making it beautiful even when not in use. When it is turned on, the luminous part has been designed to be gentle with the eyes of the observer, efficient but also soft in its light emission, to enhance the elegance of the polished internal part. The light flow of a dimmable LED of the latest generation is transmitted inside a very pure transparent cylinder that terminates in a detail specifically designed to project the beam onto the polished inner walls. Thanks to this feature, the light sources - shielded from view - projects the light downwards and onto the inner surfaces, enhancing the craftsmanship and emphasizing the diversity of every single lamp. Arumi can be used on its own, in clusters or in linear compositions, with the Foscarini multiple ceiling plate. UL Listed.  Manufactured by Foscarini.

Designed in 2017.

Arumi includes COB 10W 2700K 850 lm CRI>80 LED. Dimmable with TRIAC technology.

Foscarini

Foscarini was founded in 1981 on the Italian island of Murano near Venice. Given its location, its early production pieces were logically focused primarily on blown glass. By the late 1980s, Carlo Urbinati and Alessandro Vecchiat (both had previously worked as designers for Foscarini) took over management of the company and expanded its mission to include research and experimentation in a range of materials other than glass – molded polyethelyene, aluminum, polycarbonate, even Kevlar thread and silicon-coated metal. This commitment to innovation through materials has led to successful collaborations with a number of renowned architects and designers over the past few decades including Ferruccio Laviani, Tom Dixon, Aldo Cibic, Piero Lissoni, Marc Sadler, James Irvine, Karim Rashid, Patricia Urquiola, Luca Nichetto, and Valerio Bottin. Foscarini has received numerous, prestigious awards and many of its designs are now in the permanent collections of several museums around the world.
