Gastone Rinaldi
Gastone Rinaldi (1920 - 2006) was born in Padua, Italy.  In 1948, together with brother Giorgio, he took over RIMA - a company his father had founded for the production of metal furniture.  From the 1950s onward, he collaborated with several important designers and architects including Gio Ponti, Alberto Rosselli, Ettore Sottsass, Carlo Mollino, and Marco Zanuso.  In 1954, he won the prestigious Compasso d'Oro for the DU30 chair.  In 2021, Italian manufacturer Tacchini resissued Rinaldi's engaging Orsola Series of soft-seating originally designed in 1970.
