Poul Henningsen
Poul Henningsen (1894 - 1967) was born in Ordrup, Denmark.  He studied at both the Copenhagen Technical College and the Technical University. He never graduated but pursued a career as a painter and an inventor. In 1919, he started employment in the architectural office of Kay Fisker.  Henningsen is perhaps best known for his pioneering designs in lighting that were created by Danish manufacturer Louis Poulsen - many of which are still in production today and are included in the permanent collections of museums around the world.
