Arne Jacobsen
Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) is one of the most acclaimed Danish architects and designer. Educated in architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Jacobsen undertook architectural projects that allowed the designer to engage in all aspects of the design including the interiors and associated objects. One of the architect's best known projects was the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen (1956 - 1960) for which he designed the building along with all of the furnishings including seating, lighting, flatware - even the door handles. A testament to their timelessness, Jacobsen's designs are still produced by several manufacturers including &Tradition, D Line, Fritz Hansen, Georg Jensen, Howe, Louis Poulsen, Montana, Rosendahl, Santa & Cole, Stelton, and Vola.
