Gijs Bakker (born 1942 in Amersfoort, Netherlands) is an industrial designer whose work includes jewelry, home accessories, furniture, as well as exhibition and interior design. In 1993, he co-founded Droog Design – an important Dutch consortium of designers and products – with design critic and historian, Renny Ramakers. Together with Ramakers, he was the selector and art director of all products within Droog Design until 2009. Bakker has also taught for more than 40 years at different schools, among others the Delft University of Technology and the Design Academy Eindhoven. His work is included in the permanent collections of museums worldwide including London’s Victoria & Albert Museum.
