Federica Capitani

Federica Capitani studied industrial design at the University of Genova's Faculty of Architecture before beginning to work with Patricia Urquiola in Milan in 2002. She joined Marcel Wanders in Amsterdam in 2005 and later worked on cultural and design projects in Japan for a period. Capitani is known for a wide variety of products, from lighting and furniture, to utilitarian objects, such as tea pots. The designer established her namesake Federica Capitani Design Studio after moving to London in 2009. Her clients have since include Iittala, Kenneth Cobonpue, Moroso, M&C Saatchi, Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Rosenthal Studio Line, and Zanotta. Today, Capitani teaches at the Royal College of Art in London.
