Eero Aarnio

Eero Aarnio (born 1932 in Finland) is one of the great innovators of modern furniture design. In the 1960s, Eero Aarnio began experimenting with plastics, vivid colors and organic forms – all breaking away from traditional design conventions. His now iconic creations including the Ball (1963), Pastil (1968), and Bubble (1968) chairs all underscore the pop culture and spirit of their time. Many of Aarnio's works are included in the permanent collections of museums worldwide including London’s Victoria & Albert Museum, New York’s Museum of Modern Art, and the Vitra Design Museum, Germany.
