Max Ingrand (1908 - 1969) was born in Bressuire, France.  He studied at both the Beaux-Arts de Paris and École des Arts Décoratifs, Paris.  Renowned for his master-work in stained glass in significant cathedrals and churches around the world, Ingrand was responsible for replacing 47 of the stained glass windows at Notre-Dame, Paris, following World War II.  Ingrand's iconic industrial designs were created at FontanaArte during his tenure as artistic director from 1954 - 1964 for the Italian glass manufacturer.
