Jan Padrnos (born 1967) was originally trained as a mechanical engineer who gravitated toward architecture during his studies at the Czech Technical University in Prague.  Following graduation, he worked for as an interiors architect.  In 2000, he founded his company Blackbox which has become a manufacturer of small scale furnishings.
