Susan Cohn
Susan Cohn (born 1952 in Sydney, Australia) is a critically-acclaimed Australian silversmith - a designer of small objects and jewelry that she produces in her Melbourne studio.  Cohn was invited in 1991 to participate in Italian manufacturer Alessi's Memory Containers Meta Project, developing a celebrated centerpiece that features overlapping reticulated bowls that create a moire effect when light passes through the perforations.  The Memory Containers project from the early 1990s invited 200 women from all over the world - all under 30 years old - to develop a series of objects for Alessi.  Originally 9 designs were introduced followed shortly by another 15.  In addition to Cohn's work, she is an active lecturer at several international design schools.
