Marian Bantjes

Marian Bantjes (born 1963 in Saskatchewan, Canada) is an internationally known graphic artist who lives and works on an island off the western coast of Canada, near Vancouver.  Her work, which takes many forms, is a manifestation of obsession, beauty, complexity, and surprise.  She works using a variety of media, from drawing and painting, to digital graphics, to arrangements of objects.  Her work often incorporates words and patterns, but not always.  Several pieces of Bantjes’ work are included in the permanent collection of New York’s Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum.
