After listening to countless requests from fellow architects to see his father's designs reissued, Benjamin Cherner decided to join with his brother Thomas to form the Cherner Chair Company in 1999. By paying attention to strict detail and using his original drawings for inspiration, the brothers have not only reissued and recreated many of Norman Cherner's sustainable furniture designs that were originally produced by Plycraft from the 1950s through the 1970s, but have also introduced new pieces designed by Benjamin Cherner. Cherner Chair no longer produces just Cherner chairs, but also tables, desks, stools, children's furniture, and case goods like dressers, credenzas, and storage cabinets... even a seldom-seen lamp that Norman Cherner designed in the late 1960s.
