Benjamin Cherner (born 1956 in New York City) is the son of the furniture designer Norman Cherner and co-founder of The Cherner Chair Company. He heads the multi-disciplinary design studio Cherner Architecture & Design that was founded in 1992. His building designs often incorporate his father's as well as his own furniture designs. In 1999, he co-founded The Cherner Chair Company with his brother, Thomas Cherner, with the intent of reissuing many of their father's midcentury designs. In addition to reissuing these iconic molded plywood chairs, stools, and tables, The Cherner Chair Company has introduced new designs by Benjamin Cherner. Cherner is a registered architect in both New York and Connecticut and holds degrees in architecture from Arizona State University and Columbia University.
