Centerpiece with interposable elements in black melamine. Zaha Hadid, like Jean Nouvel, is an architect with whom Alessi started working in the 1980s, but with whom we had not yet developed items for mass production. Having graduated from the Architectural Association in London, she launched on her professional career in 1979. She has taught in many European and American universities and is currently a lecturer at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and a Visiting Professor in Yale. Among her most renowned creations are: the Vitra fire station in Weil am Rhein and a residential building for Iba in Berlino (1993); the Mind Zone at the Millennium Dome in London (1997-99); a tram station in Strasburg (2001); and a ski jump in Innsbruck (2002). Among the projects underway: the contemporary art centers in Rome and Cincinnati; a Science center in Wolfsburg, Germany; a public square and a multiplex cinema in Barcelona; the extension of the Ordrupgaard museum in Copenhagen; and a bridge in Abu Dhabi.  Manufactured by Alessi.

Alessi
