The appearance of the Basica in 1987 heralded a return to warmth in household lighting.  The lamp base is made of a lacquered birch wood column with a satin nickel base.  Lamp can be ordered with a conical parchment shade, available in two sizes, or a square cotton ribbon shade.  Maximum wattage for lamp is 100W incandesent or equivalent dimmable compact fluorescent E26 bulb.  Compact fluorescent bulbs still shines a warm yellow light through the lamp shade.  Manufactured by Santa & Cole.
