"Ferire o fiorire" (to injure or to flourish), that is the question.  There is a duality in this object which is interesting to play with: in life, when all is said and done, we can always choose whether to injure others, or ourselves… or flourish!  When I use it to sharpen a knife, I wield it like a sword. When I put it back in the Kitchen spoon holder, it displays its corolla like a calla lily.  It's an instrument that prepares me for the creative act of cooking that I love.   Manufactured by Alessi.
