90010 I Ashtray

Designer Marianne Brandt studied painting and sculpture the Weimar Hochschule in Germany and was the only woman who took part in the Metallwerkstatt of the Bauhaus.  Her objects are a splendid example of her research to simplify the industrial processes of spinning and printing.  The 90100 two-piece ashtray in mirrored polished steel is produced under licence of the Bauhaus-Archiv in Berlin.  Manufactured by Alessi.
